Microdialysis in Clinical Research

Exploring tissue chemistry

Microdialysis is a monitoring technique that enables detection of small biochemical markers, such as glucose, lactate and puruvate, but also larger molecules. M Dialysis’s high cut off catheters allow for further detection of larger molecules such as cytokines and other inflammatory markers.

This possibility makes it possible to identify unique markers that can be used for early diagnosis of secondary complications and disease processes and collect free fractions of a drug in pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies. It is mini-mally invasive and simple to perform in a clinical setting.

Today there are more than 3.500 scientific microdialysis articles published in several different clinical fields.
