Pharmaceutical-Grade For Laboratory Animal Research
Are you putting your animals and research at risk by flushing catheters with solutions that are not pharmaceutical-grade or, even worse, not sterile?
Saline. Isotonic saline without heparin is needed for checking catheter patency, drawing blood samples and for fluid replacement. Bags of pharmaceutical-grade saline are readily available; however, maintaining the sterility of the saline in the bag over time, and filling syringes under strict aseptic conditions can be challenging in many lab settings. We fill high-quality BD® syringes with USP Sterile Grade 0.9% NaCl (Normal Saline) following the USP <797> standard for compounding sterile preparations.
Heparinized-Saline and Heparin-Dextrose. Instech make these sterile solutions with pharmaceutical-grade heparin sodium and following the USP standard for compounding sterile pharmaceutical preparations, then fill high-quality HSW NORM-JECT® syringes using aseptic technique. The plunger of these two-piece syringes pushes out the entire volume, leaving no dead space for air bubbles or wasted solution.
If you will be accessing Instech Vascular Access Buttons™ or PinPorts™, choose syringes with the needle free PNP3M injectors already installed. The syringes are sealed to keep the contents sterile and provided in quantities of 50 (10 packs of 5).
These solutions are not approved for human use. They are for laboratory animal research only. AAALAC recommends that pharmaceutical-grade compounds be used in laboratory animal research when available.
