Y and X Connectors

These three- and four-way tubing connectors combine flow paths; they are frequently used in glucose clamp studies. They feature stainless steel tubes and a hub made of Kel-F® (PCTFE, chemically resistant). Tubes extend approximately 6mm from the hub. Dead volume of from one channel to the next is less than 3µL.

Never use Y or X connectors to split flow as the percentage that goes down one path versus the other will vary greatly depending on differences in backpressure.

They are available with either 22ga or 25ga connectors to mate with all of Instech’s other tubing and components which have been standardized to these sizes.

Features and Benefits

  • Stainless steel tubes with rounded edges
  • Low dead volume
  • No pockets for stagnant flow
  • Individually packaged and EtO sterilized
